About Joseph

I am a counselor, workshop facilitator, leadership consultant and life coach in private practice in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts and I love my work!

I help people know, and live in accordance with, their nature and their deepest calling.  I do this by helping people bring more of themselves to life—both the parts that aspire and those that hold back.  I provide a forum in which my clients and I can develop curiosity and dialog with all the parts of themselves, thus bringing more awareness, integration, energy and creativity to their lives.

For over 20 years I have been helping people learn and grow in one capacity or another, from piano teacher to adventure-based educator to corporate trainer; and more recently in the roles of facilitator, counselor, coach and consultant.  I am certified as a facilitator of Shadow Work® and Inspirational BreathWork®, the former a method that draws from Jungian and Gestalt psychologies and the latter a form of transformational breathwork informed by dolphin research and Core Energetics®.  I am also trained in Deep Type®, a tested method for determining personal Type through conversation.

I develop and lead workshops in facilitation skills, communication skills, gender work, diversity and personal mastery.  A lead facilitator with Gilburg Leadership Institute, a consulting group specializing in the development of conscious leaders and their legacy, I help individuals and groups in private and public sector organizations lead from the inside out.

Engaged in the men's movement for 20 years, I have been blessed to work, as a facilitator, mentor, trainer, leader and peer, with many hundreds of men across North America.  I co-conceived, -designed and -led for 4 years a program called Can We Talk?, which fosters conscious, courageous dialog between women and men.

A composer and pianist, I graduated summa cum laude from Hartt School of Music.  In all my work, I draw from many years of yoga, dance and outdoor pursuits, which have instilled in me a deep regard for the body's wisdom and nature's guidance.
